AIS is provided to students as an additional support in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Math. The goal is to not only help fill any gaps that a student may have but also provide instruction and strategies to better support students while in the classroom. Students are placed in AIS based upon the student's scores on the NYS ELA or Math Assessment or based upon a recommendation from the classroom teacher and the RTI committee.
