Dear Students and Parents,

With the holiday season upon us, there are so many things to be thankful for here at IRIS. IRIS is a wonderful building filled with caring and hardworking staff, respectful and kind students and the best facilities around. We are constantly looking for ways to make our school safer, more welcoming, and the best learning environment possible.

Already, students have had the opportunity to meet a world renown author (Gordan Korman) and kick off our One Book One School initiative with the book, Shipwreck from the Island series. They have also gone over to the high school to witness a Wacky Science Show and have been visited by the Merry Go Round Theater to continue to promote our message of being respectful whether it is to our environment (Emilia and the Heart of the Amazon) or to each other (The Keeper's Voice).

It is our goal, not only as a school, but as a district to provide a safe learning environment where all students can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.  Throughout the year, we will continue to work together to create an atmosphere that promotes positive character traits such as respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship. We recognize that we cannot do this alone and look forward to partnering with you at home as we work toward the common goal of raising hard working and caring individuals.

As an administrative team, we look forward to building relationships with the students, and their families,as we embark on a new year. We have 38 years of combined educational experience yet we are so excited about the many opportunities to learn and grow together. Please feel free to call or stop in the office to say hello, offer feedback, or to simply introduce yourself.
